With the return of the dragons, and the rise of Dragon Hunters as a result, the need for Dragon Riders has never been greater. Hiccup and the rest of the original Dragon Riders have started training the next generation to fulfill their mission: ensure the safety of the dragons. A whole new set of Dragon Riders will be in charge of the safety of the archipelago. They will explore further and discover even more new dragons while protecting their home.
Tidal Class dragons live in or near the ocean, and unlike most dragons, they do not breathe fire as their ranged attacks, and although very few can, they rarely do use them. The dragons in this class are generally larger in size than most of the other classes. Most Tidal class dragons cannot stay out of the water for a long time.

Short Description As with all members of the animal kingdom, dragons, too, must follow a hierarchy of power and leadership. At the apex of that chain of command rules an exceedingly rare alpha dragon to which all others bow — the Bewilderbeast. However, Bewilderbeasts are not born to that alpha status; it is earned through combat, vigilance, and most importantly, a desire to protect the dragons and all other creatures in its nest. Fortunately for Bewilderbeasts, there are few other dragons in the world that can match their intimidating stature and ever hope to compete for the designation of "king of all dragons". Physical Features
Large spikes protruding from back of neck
Small teeth compared to body ratio
Coral-like scales
Tail fins
Colors
Snowy white with charcoal highlighted tips
Dark, muddy gray with red highlighted tips
Physical Description
Egg
The egg of the Bewilderbeast is oval and covered in small red spikes that resemble those on an adult Bewilderbeast's face and back. It is unknown whether the colors of the spikes affect the colors of the hatchling. It is usually laid in a nest of ice made by the parents. Hatchling to Adult
Bewilderbeasts are incredibly massive, spiky dragons with a pair of massive, tusk-like horns protruding from the sides of their heads and huge multiple wings. The front side of their bodies is covered with burr-like spikes, along with two lines of spikes along the eyelids, giving an impression of eyebrows. Protrusions from the back of their heads form mane-like frills. Unlike Red Deaths, Bewilderbeasts are unable to fly for not having big enough wings for flight, mostly due to their colossal body sizes, and they likely use their wings to assist them in swimming, similar to penguins. This makes one of the few weaknesses that make this species vulnerable.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Ice Spikes A Bewilderbeast's most notable and feared ability is to burst streams of ice-turning water on contact. It does this by sucking up and the sea and storing it in the goiters down its neck. The Bewilderbeast’s breath is so intensely cold and it regurgitates the water with so great a force that when it hits its target, it breaks and tears it apart and freezes mid-splash. Ice expelled by the Bewilderbeast has a very different texture, quality, and color than other ice. Its ice has a greenish tint and freezes in very iconic, arresting ice spikes. This ice-blast is extremely powerful and can create immense 'glacial explosions' on contact that can destroy and penetrate any artificial structures with ease.
Strength and Combat Being one of the largest dragons known to Vikings, Bewilderbeasts possess unmatched strength and raw power. They can crush massive war contraptions without even noticing it and plow through mountainsides as if they were paper walls.
Underwater Adaptations Being aquatic, these dragons can submerge and stay underwater for a long time despite being a species of pulmonary respiration. Also, despite their enormous sizes and a rather terrestrial form, they are true to their class; capable of swimming at a surprisingly fast speed which is faster than the finest ships. The swimming speed of fully matured Bewilderbeasts is beyond belief; they are capable of ignoring drastic hydraulic drags and water pressures due to their colossal body masses, being agile enough to effortlessly chase oceanic fish to feed other dragons, and are fast enough to demonstrate surprise attacks despite being so large. Also, the swimming itself produces devastating side effects at top speeds.
Dragon Controlling Bewilderbeasts use their eyes and ultrasonic sounds to control dragons' minds.
Weaknesses
Being massive dragons, Bewilderbeasts lack speed and agility while on land, mostly unable to avoid large obstacles in their way. Although uncertain at Tiny Tooth and Short Wing stages, Bewilderbeasts are unable to fly, and their wings are used mainly for swimming and vestigial purposes.
Bewilderbeasts appear to have thinner if any, scales in their underbellies, and a blow powerful enough such as the horns of another individual, in this weak spot is enough to kill a Bewilderbeast.
Behavior & Training
Personality Bewilderbeasts are kind and docile creatures that protect and care for their fellow dragons and underlings, tending to their young and even herding large schools of fish to feed them. On the other hand, however, Bewilderbeasts can be cruel and menacing, forcing or enslaving the other dragons even against their will to do the Bewilderbeast's bidding using their Alpha Control ability. This behavior is quite similar to that of the Red Death, but with a much stronger influence. They are leaders of dragons, and are essentially living 'nature' themselves to preordain entire ecosystems; being a gentle, 'father nature' or malevolent, 'natural disaster or storm'. Mostly due to their large sizes, Bewilderbeasts are rare, seldom seen dragons, and prefer to live in the cooler, arctic regions of the Barbaric Archipelago, where they either live submerged in the water or construct their huge ice nests. Oddly enough, Bewilderbeasts prefer to live near hot springs, bathing and living in the warmer waters, despite their otherwise cold environment.

Spines on head
Colors
Sandy brown
Physical Description
Egg
The Sand Wraith egg appears to have a smooth, somewhat lustrous appearance to it and is a sandy brown color with darker brown spots on it. Hatchling to Adult
The Sand Wraith's skin looks like the sand, as it is a bright sandy brown. It has spikes on its head which resembles the Night Fury's nubs and ears on its head. The Sand Wraith also has secondary wings. It also has a unique tail design which consists of 2 arrow-like shapes pointing inwards. Similar in body and wing shape to the Night Fury, this dragon has more spines, along with its head and wings. The spines are thinner and longer, and all considerably sharper. It also has two large 'thumb' claw is wings. Its head is flatter and ends more pointed likely to aid in burying itself. Instead of having sails at the end of their tails, there are thicker spikes. Overall the dragon is covered in brown tones, its spines fading to a far darker almost blake shade, while its wings sport lighter spotting. Titan Wing
Titan Wing Sand Wraiths are reddish brown and their wings have a yellow edge with a sophisticated network of vein-like patterns on it. Spikes emerge from the back of their head, their wings, their back and their tail. Also, their tail fin and the second pair of wings are larger. A black band forms over their eyes.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Hardened Balls of Sand and Fire Unlike other dragons, the Sand Wraith has a unique firepower. It shoots hardened balls of sand surrounded by weak fire from a distance.
Camouflage This dragon is an expert in camouflage and will bury itself in the sand. This is to keep cool and surprise prey from below. This allows it to completely blend in with the sand as it waits for unsuspecting prey or as a way to avoid sunburn.
Weaknesses
Sand Wraiths burrow through the sand to avoid sunburn, which means their skin is susceptible and might be sensitive to ultraviolet radiation.
Behavior & Training
Personality Sand Wraiths are feisty and like to camouflage under the sand.

Physical Description
Egg
Scauldron eggs are bluish in color, ranging from turquoise to cyan and even shades of dark green. They are oblong in shape. Hatchling to Adult
This dragon is gigantic, growing up to a size nearly the same as many giant cetaceans. It is a huge sea dragon that walks on four stubby and powerful legs. They have intense obesity to heat the water they suck in. Its tail is like that of a fish, helping it to swim. When filled with water, the Scauldron's stomach protrudes out and becomes very round. Its neck is very long and thin, and its head is usually fairly slender with its bottom jaw having a sort of pouch that hangs from its chin. When it is out of water for a long time, it begins to dehydrate due to which its skin turns into a shade of grey.
Its bottom jaw is very flexible, and it bulges out when filled with water. The bulging of its jaw is an indication that it is going to shoot boiling water. Its eyes are located near the front of its face, and it has a thin, curving nasal horn. It has peg like teeth that are ideal for catching fish, very sharp, and also happen to be venomous. Two or more whisker-like strings are connected to the Scauldrons' upper jaw. Titan Wing
Titan Wing Scauldrons are dark blue in color and their tail fin and wings have an elaborate pattern of water droplet shaped pink spots. There are tints of light blue and purple on its wings too. Also, they have grown two more horns on the top of their snouts. Along with that, the little tentacles on their chin are thicker, and more spread out, and spines have been known to grow on their long, slender neck. They have a rotund belly to store and boil the water that they have collected.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Firepower The Scauldrons are mostly considered as non-fire breathers, but they seemingly possess sources of heats other than body temperatures that are most likely reminders of their terrestrial or other ancestral abilities (otherwise, the waters around them would constantly vaporize and would not be able to fit in their natural habitats and ecosystems), at least for creating hot waters.
Venom and Immunity It is revealed that the venom of these dragons is the only known antidote for dragons to the critically noxious Blue Oleander pollen; they have tolerances to the flowers despite being an aquatic species.
Electrical Sense Scauldrons can sense electrical pulses like sharks, skates, and rays. They can use this to track their favorite prey, Seashockers. However, due to this, Scauldrons can accidentally track down electric eels, one of the few things that they are afraid of.
Hunting Scauld rons have shown to be able to hunt smaller sea dragons such as Seashockers. As they hunted in a pair or more as they will chase their prey to make them corner to attack. They have been shown to not be quitters unless their prey reunites with the pod.
Weaknesses
Being Tidal Class dragons, Scauldrons can only stay out of the water for a short period of time. If they don't make it back in time, their skin will get dry, they will get weaker and become vulnerable to predators.
If a shot is fired at a Scauldron's jaws when they are inflated with boiling water and it is about to shoot it, all of the water will spill out, disorienting the dragon and depriving them of their powerful ability.
Scauldrons live in pods, which gives them their great power. When a Scauldron is without its pod, it is still a formidable opponent, but can be defeated with less struggle.
Behavior & Training
Personality Like cetaceans and Thunderdrums, Scauldrons form pods. Both of these are whale-like dragons, and they are fearsome hunters, and are described to be 'meaner than sharks' and the 'original sea monster'. Scauldrons can be rather aggressive and territorial at times. These reptiles will not hesitate to spray a mouthful of boiling hot water at its opponents when it senses danger. However, once a person gains its trust, a Scauldron can remain loyal and kind. Scauldrons are known to be organized strategists who are patient. Similar to Seashockers, Scauldrons work together to take down prey in pods, this is extremely beneficial since they have been known to prey on other dragons, which may be hard to defeat alone. Though Scauldrons can fly, they prefer to travel underwater, popping their heads to the surface occasionally to search for prey, enemies and air. Training Like the Skrill and Whispering Death, training a Scauldron is incredibly difficult and close to impossible due to their aggressive nature. If you want to train a Scauldron, the best way to start is simply to cover yourself in water or anything that smells like fish. Scauldrons are sentimental creatures who love anything that reminds them of their home.
It is also possible to train a Scauldron by giving it Blue Oleander, just like offering other dragons their favorite food.

Physical Description
Egg
The eggs of a Seashocker tapers towards its tip, giving it a pointy, rounded triangle shape. They have several lighter spots around their base. Hatchling to Adult
The Seashocker looks similar to a blue Manta Ray, which is more noticeable when seen in a bird's eye view. It has two heads and has large a wingspan of 15 meters (50 feet) with two small flippers in front of it, giving it the appearance of a blue colored Manta Ray. The Seashocker also has small spikes lining its spine and the top of its heads. Their dorsal fins are very sharp and dense, functioning as amazingly powerful blades that are capable of slicing thick sea ices and even the most solid floes. Its necks are incredibly short. Titan Wing
Titan Wing Seashockers have jaws full of spikes and their body is bright yellow. Furthermore, white stripes streak across their wings and its edges are purple. They have light blue spines on their two necks that merge together to form one row of spines on their backs. They have a cluster of spikes at the tip of their tails.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Firepower Seashockers gain their name from their unique ability to generate electrical discharges. Although they can emit electricity from their mouths, it will be released when they have bitten something, or in a short range just before they nip their targets. Their electro-charged bites can take out even the largest enemies. Because of their electro-abilities, electric eels are regarded as the closest evolutionary relative to the Seashocker, which may be the reason eels are feared by almost all dragons.
Hunting Seashockers are also fearsome hunters, similar to Orcas in their lifestyle and intelligence, and are equipped with many weapons including dorsal fins, electric charges, and two heads. Hunting in groups, the Seashocker is an expert in the sneak attack. If you see its fin in the water, then the rest of its pod has already moved in to attack.
Echolocation They use their echolocation to locate its prey in deep water like dolphins, porpoises, and whales. The underwater sonar they emit allows them to stealthily detect prey. They use this ability to travel in the deepest depths.
Bioluminescence The Seashocker also has the ability to glow in deep dark waters where the light doesn't reach thanks to its bioluminescence.
Dorsal blades Their dorsal blades are very powerful and sharp that they can cut through the thickest sea ice. They are composed of super-dense cartilage, which allows them to cut through floating sheets of ice to get to their prey.
Weaknesses
The Seashockers' shocking ability produces an electric pulse that Scauldrons can sense, allowing them to track down and prey on the former. Like many Tidal Class dragons, Seashockers cannot last for a very long time out of water and will quickly dry up. Furthermore, unlike other Tidal Class dragons, Seashockers lack legs and on land are as helpless as a stranded whale. In addition, despite possessing wings, Seashockers are very weak flyers, as their wings are designed to be more like paddles for swimming in water
Behavior & Training
Personality The Seashocker lives in very deep, icy waters, where it can use echolocation instead of sight to hunt prey. It can also use its bioluminescence as an attraction to deep sea fish. Their most remarkable feature would be their teamwork. They often hunt in pods and circle their prey into a tight 'bait ball'. They move swiftly together and use it both to hunt and care for their young. Seashockers will also work together to defend against predators.

Short Description The Shellfire glides through the ocean at incredible speeds and shrugs off attacks with its durable carapace, delivering devastation with its protruding horns. Physical Features
Long but relatively small wings
Long horns
Nasal horn
Hard carapace-like armor
Colors
Red with orange and yellow
Titan Wing It has two long and slightly curved horns on the sides of its head, a smaller horn on its nose, relatively long wings that do not appear to be broad enough to enable flight, and a rough dorsal protective shell. Overall, the Shellfire roughly resembles a trilobite and a horseshoe crab combined, with overlapping segmented scales covering its body, forming a carapace-like armor. The dragon has four stubby legs and a pair of unique fan-shaped wings, used mainly for swimming.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Firepower Shellfires are capable of shooting a series of large plasma-charged boulders in a high trajectory that has a range of over a mile. These projectiles can be fired in rapid succession like a mortar and hit like bombshells. The projectiles whistle as they fly by before exploding once they hit their target. Their firepower most likely functions underwater as well, seeing as they are plasma charges, similar to that of the Night Fury, whose plasma blasts also function underwater. The Shellfire is extremely accurate with these.
Strength and Combat Whilst in combat Shellfires use their massive body, combined with their weight and raw strength to slam against opponents, utilizing their carapace like armor and ridged spines as a defense.
Endurance and Stamina The Shellfire's armored carapace is so durable and resistant that it enables it to endure almost anything, even numerous blows from its natural enemy the Submaripper, showing no signs of injury, only slight irritation.
Expelling Red Algae When threatened, Shellfires will expel red algae from their gills that temporarily blinds and sickens their attackers.
Weaknesses
The Shellfire's massive size, durable carapace-like armor, and deep-dwelling capabilities enable it to endure mostly anything, though due to their timid whale-like nature they tend to escape fights and avoid struggles, rendering them relatively easy to capture and exploit, such as when one individual was captured and exploited by Viggo Grimborn and Ryker Grimborn in their conflict with Hiccup and the Dragon Riders. The Shellfire's tendency to escape confrontations also enables Submarippers, their natural enemies, to often win skirmishes between the two species.
Behavior & Training
Personality As massive Tidal Class dragons, Shellfires prefer the depths of the oceans to abide and hunt, and like Seashockers and Scauldrons, they rarely rise to the surface. When they do surface however, their massive armored backs are often mistaken for landmasses and used by seafaring Vikings to dock their ships on their travels, only for the disturbed Shellfires to dive beneath the waves sinking what's on their backs with them, never to be seen again.
Shellfires are quite shy and timid by nature, preferring to avoid most battles thus relying mostly on their massive sizes, armored carapaces and the unheard of depths they call home to fend off most attacks, even from humans and their natural enemies, the Submarippers. However, if moved to battle, they have massive cranial and nasal horns, insane amounts of raw strength, powerful limbs, and boulder-sized plasma charges they can fire like mortars to put up quite the fight.
It is unknown if Shellfires can fly, as so far no individuals have been observed airborne, though judging by their sheer size and weight, comparatively small wings, and poor aerodynamic build, it is highly unlikely. Also, although undetermined, Shellfires most likely can stray on dry land, as their large and stumpy legs appear to be strong enough to support their massive weight. Training It is currently unknown whether or not Shellfires can be trained, as Viggo's Shellfire, the only known individual, was so agitated that, after being captured and forced to battle a Submaripper and Dragon Riders by the Dragon Hunters, it immediately retreated to the ocean's depths, and has not been spotted since.
Short Description Instead of fire, this Tidal Class swimmer emits bio-electricity, from a gentle jolt to a lethal bolt. It can be quite the shock. Physical Description
Egg
The Shockjaw egg has a spherical shape. It is purple and has a few rod-like structures with a smaller sphere at the end that protrudes out. It has faint pink spots on it. An unknown, translucent substance surrounds it. It could be a purple gel or even its bio-electricity. Hatchling to Adult
Normally various shades of sea-green to purple, the Shockjaw boasts a ridge of membrane joined spines, much like a fish, the wings are both intended for flight as well as swimming. The Shockjaw boasts a prominent lower jaw and small teeth in comparison to other dragons of the Tidal class. This dragon also features a long tail, almost fish-like body with small legs and bio-luminescent tendrils on the lower jaw. Like most Tidal Class dragons, it can't shoot fire and instead creates a sort of bio-electricity to fire. Titan Wing
Titan Wing Shockjaws are dark blue in color. They have purple fins and wings. Their eyes appear to glow like bio-luminescent, together with a few specks along their back and tail as well as their mouth and the tip of the tentacles on their chin. Also, the skin on their wings seems to be attached to their body in adulthood. However, in titan form, their wings are not attached directly to a body but instead to a wing bone. Their limbs have also grown longer.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Bio-Electricity The Shockjaw shoots powerful blasts of bio-electricity from the tendrils underneath its jaw. These blasts work particularly well underwater, as sea water is a conductor of electricity. They can also be used to cut through the top layer of snow. The strength of these blasts can range from light to lethal jolts of electricity, with some being so powerful that they can take down an entire ship.
Speed The Shockjaw is described to be among the fastest flying dragons in the Tidal Class. This Tidal Class dragon is built for speed. The Shockjaw has small flukes and a large fin extending the length of its neck, allowing it to effortlessly glide through both water and air. The dazzling speed of these dragons allows them to electrify the skies with their quick turns and their swift dives.
Weaknesses

Physical Description
Egg
Sliquifier eggs radiate and have a faint glow outside. They appear to have what seems to be little protrusions that stick out from its side, covering the entire egg. Hatchling to Adult
The Sliquifier is a medium-sized Tidal Class dragon. It has a dolphin-like tailfin, a long neck, and a small fin lining its neck. There are thin tentacle-like strings under its chin. Titan Wing
A Titan Wing Sliquifier is yellow, close to golden, in color. Its wings and tail fin are bright blue but has a few green spots on it. The fin on its long, slender neck is larger, extending far down its back. It has more tendrils on its chin, which can glow bright blue. Instead of two, the tail fin is split into four. Its mouth becomes bigger than its head, with the nasal horn also being longer.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Acid Blasts Like the Changewing and several other dragons, the Sliquifier emits acid. It uses its speed to churn up powerful streams of acid before attacking its opponents. Sliquifiers make their blasts stronger as they increase their speed at the time of release. Although the Sliquifier is a slow shooter, it is able to use its speed to make its powerful blasts even more of a threat.
Speed and Agility The Sliquifier is the fastest swimming Tidal Class dragon, being described as a supersonic swimmer. Its speed makes it useful to hunt prey and escape from danger. The Sliquifier also uses its speed to churn up acid. As its speed increases, the power of its acid increases too.
Weaknesses

Physical Description
Egg
The Submaripper egg appears to have a dense, round, solid core, which is surrounded by a transparent layer of liquid, which is coated by another membrane. Suspended in the substance appears to be several gas bubbles. The egg has a main solid color and v-shaped stripes of a different hue. Hatchling to Adult
The Submaripper is a massive dragon. It is said to have teeth the size of Vikings. In addition, it has an unusually large head-to-body ratio for a dragon, and a rounded head and snout. It has several lobs and nubs on its back, along with stripes along its body. The Submaripper has short necks and wings. It also has frog-like legs with webbed feet. The Submaripper can be best described as being similar in appearance to an eel with legs (as well as a few traits similar to frogs). It has various wattles and kelp-like structures that line its back and hang off its legs and sides. Titan Wing
A Titan Wing Submaripper turns dark green in color. Its snout and stripes are yellow, and its back is a darker shade of red. Its heart-shaped spines are bigger and it has grown some on its feet as well.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Whirlpool Vortexes The Submaripper has the ability to create a whirlpool by sucking the nearby water into its mouth. It is powerful enough to suck down large ships or dragons that are around the size of Scauldrons and powerful enough to pull dragons that are above the water, although it appears to be less powerful underwater, as Hiccup is able to hold on to a rock and not get sucked into its maw.
Firepower The Submaripper is said to be able to vomit the shipwrecks it has ingested as harpoon-studded debris. However, this ability was never seen.
Strength and Combat The Submaripper has proven to be an extremely strong dragon because it was able to take on a Titan Wing Shellfire by using a full-body tackle on the larger dragon. Underwater, the Submaripper can carry the weight of a large ship in its mouth.
Weaknesses
Gas Bubbles The Submaripper exhales gas bubbles that have a foul odor, which can alert other creatures of its presence.
Behavior & Training
Personality Submarippers are aggressive and territorial, unwilling to let anything get close to them, whether they are humans or other dragons. They spend most of their time sleeping on the bottom of the ocean, but they can be woken by the slightest movement in the water.
Despite their hostile nature, Submarippers are grateful to those who help them, and will not hesitate in returning the favor. Training While it is unknown if a Submaripper can be fully trained, it can be tamed to a certain extent. If one helps or saves a Submaripper, the dragon will stop being aggressive and will even return the favour. The Submaripper's undying loyalty will have been earned.

Short Description Instead of breathing fire, the Thunderdrum produces a strong, concussive sound that can kill a human at close range. The blast is so powerful that the dragon is said to "get its power from Thor himself". Legend also has it that when the Thunderdrum hatches from its egg, it makes a sound so loud it rattles the sky. When not swelling its body up to yell, Thunderdrums can actually flatten their body by expelling all oxygen from their massive lungs for a limited period of time. Colors
Mainly blue
Purple
Green
All with a white belly
Physical Description
Egg
The Thunderdrum's egg appears to have a base color of aqua, with lime green speckling. Hatchling to Adult
This dragon relies mostly on its two sets of wings, one primary and one smaller set to the rear, using them to get around and move through the water like a tornado.
These dragons have stubby thin legs and long, skinny tails. It also has a series of backward facing spikes lining its back. The Thunderdrum's body resembles several marine creatures such as a basking shark, a whale shark, a manta ray, or a baleen whale. According to the Dragon Manual, Thunderdrums have really powerful wings and the spikes on their tails are very sharp. Titan Wing
Titan Wing Thunderdrums are larger than their Broad Wing counterparts. They have three main colors on their body: blue, turquoise, and purple. Their wings have these three colors and many white specks. The talons on the edge of their wings grow larger. Their body is mainly blue in color. These Titans possess lots of sharp teeth and a long ledge, with its nostrils, on the top of its snout. Their second set of wings is larger and they have a row of spines along their tail and spikes all over their back.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Sonic Blast and Fire Blast The name originates from it's breath weapon. The Thunderdrum produces a strong concussive sound that can kill a human at close range. It is not only capable of temporarily stunning other dragons but can also extinguish flames shot by other dragons. The blast is so powerful that the creature is said to "get its power from Thor himself." Only the Screaming Death has a tolerance with this attack (able to stun it temporarily). By combining roars of several individuals, the roars are able to knock away several large dragons at a distance.
Strength and Combat Thunderdrums are some of the most powerful dragons. They are also some of the all-around most useful dragons as they can dive down to the depths of the ocean and fly at extremely high altitudes.
Immunity to the Death Song The Thunderdrum's bellow is so loud that they tend to be almost deaf, making it the only known dragon which is immune to the Death Song's call.
Speed and Agility Thunderdrums are able to fly at great speeds in the air, and swim through water with perfect ease.
Weaknesses
Bad Hearing The Thunderdrum's weak hearing is both their weakness and their strength: being almost deaf leaves them immune to their own sonic blasts and prevents them from being affected by the song of a Death Song.
Short Legs The Thunderdrum's legs are very short and wide set, making them very awkward while moving around on land. Despite this, they are able to run as fast as humans.
Behavior & Training
Personality They form pods in a hunt or on migration, a feature similar to those of cetaceans. Generally reclusive in nature when alone, living in sea caves and dark tide pools or in open waters.
Understandably, they are strident and assertive, the loud Thunderdrum always makes its feelings known.
Adolescents are shown to be mischievous to Vikings and dragons alike and they can be very annoying, as they don't stop roaring or mimicking other sounds. However, the adolescents will acquiesce to any adult of the same species, regardless of relationship or lack thereof. Thunderdrums are so stubborn that they can be tough to train. They show a real parental instinct to any young, even if it's not their own. Training Training a Thunderdrum, especially as an adult is a challenge partly due to their difficult personality and deafness. Showing protection and gaining the Thunderdrum's trust is an easier way to train it. Adolescents also don't or can't listen except to mature adults. It is easier to train one from birth or have an adult to help. However, adults can be very protective of their young, regardless of their offspring's' ill-behavior.

Abilities & Weaknesses
Abilities
Acid The Tide Glider is able to shoot acid in either streams or multiple blasts, which it uses to defend itself and/or attack foes. Since the Tide Gliders are described to be venomous, it is possible that the acid it shoots contains the venom.
Saliva with Healing Properties The Tide Glider's saliva is said to contain healing properties, capable of healing almost any wound, from both Vikings, animals, and dragons alike. Its saliva most likely is in its water blast, which the Tide Glider can administer to wounds by spraying its water at them.
Spraying Water Tide Gliders fire water, possibly containing its fabled saliva with healing properties, in either blasts or streams. It remains unknown at what temperature the water is fired in, or if the Tide Glider can control its blast's temperature. The blast could contain the poison.
Speed and Agility Tide Gliders are extremely fast, agile and maneuverable while in the sea, riding the waves of coastal waters. Their incredible agility has been noted by Vikings and compared to dancing.
Weaknesses
Unkown
