Isle of Berk
Berk is a small island that's twelve days north of Hopeless and a few degrees south of Freezing to Death. It is located solidly on the Meridian of Misery in the Barbaric Archipelago. Berk is a rather round island, similar to an oval shape, and it looks quite small on maps. Unlike many other islands, it has very few sea stacks. It contains many interesting geological landforms such as rocky arches and cliffs, beaches, waterfalls, streams, and several large forests. There is also a massive cavern under the village which now serves as space for dragon stables.

Dragon's Edge
Beyond Berk and away from the Archipelago, the Dragon's Edge is part clubhouse, part launching point for the Dragon Riders' new missions into strange lands and against even stranger menaces. Located a full day's flight from Berk, the Dragon's Edge boasts huts designed to reflect the personality of each Dragon Rider, as well as shared areas like the clubhouse and domed training arena. The island is covered with forests of moderate density. There are also numerous cliffs, and the island itself is surrounded by rather shallow lagoons.

Berserker Island
Berserker Island appears to be a very rocky, bare island. It is very 'vertical', having a tall central mountain with very little spread of hills of fields around it. The rocky central island is surrounded by significant sea stacks. The island has trees and grass, and a large amount of white-flowering bushes closer to the village proper. The interior of the island has a "maze of caves", in which ice structures can be found, which were created by a Bewilderbeast. The caverns are so extensive, the mountain is practically hollowed out.

Caldera Cay
Caldera Cay is an island with a dormant volcano at its center. The volcano is dormant because of the actions of the Eruptodon dragon, who eats lava and magma. Possibly because of the rich soil base from volcanic ash and rock, the island is lush with vegetation. There are many stone structures on the island, built by the Defenders of the Wing. The Defenders of the Wings have also built a Dragon Ward - or dragon hospital - in their village and is considered the best in the whole of the Barbaric Archipelago.

Outcast Island
This island appears to be only made of rock with no discernible farms. No vegetation appears at all, except for several forests of a dark, leafless variety of trees called a Loki Tree. There are also at least some bushes that grow poisonous berries. There is some volcanic activity there. The island is almost always dark and sullen and appears to have seen very little sunlight. This island has tunnels throughout it, possibly created by Whispering Deaths.

Dragon Hunter Island
A major port for the dragon trade. Where Hunters will sell the dragons they have captured for a large sum. Dragon Hunter Island is fairly large, with beaches, coastline on which ships can be moored, sparsely forested areas, cliffs, and a central pit that appears like a quarry and man-made. Ribbed dragon spines serve as ladders between levels. Dragon-proof metal cages litter the island where dragons are kept to be sold or slaughtered. There is also a network of caverns serving as additional storage and living space. In the general vicinity of the island, there is Caldera Cay and ironically Vanaheim.

Wingmaiden Island
This remote island is, as most islands in the archipelago, tall and rocky, with ample forests. The Wingmaidens' village is built of raised, dome-like structures above the trees, almost like tree houses. There are also sturdy tent structures. The tallest rocky spire on the island is hollow, almost tube-like, with a Razorwhip shrine at the bottom where the Wingmaidens honor Razorwhips fallen in battle.

Dragon Island
Hidden behind a veil of perpetual fog, Dragon Island was once the home of — and now the final resting place to — the massive and fearsome dragon tyrant, the Red Death. The island itself is simple in geography: it comprises jagged rock structures jutting out of the waters, a beach of gravel, and one, a sole volcano. Once one bypasses the mist, the chunks of stone scattered about to prove to be more than enough of a challenge for most Vikings to navigate through safely, as well as anything else without a thorough knowledge of where to go.

The Hidden World
The Hidden World is an old sea-faring legend about a land at the edge of the world, where many sailors have lost their ships — never to be seen again. Those who have returned reported sightings of a great waterfall and dragons guarding the entrance to a hidden world beneath the sea. A land from which all dragons hail. The Hidden World is located within a massive volcanic caldera that serves as a gateway to an endless maze of chambers and tunnels, which in turn work their way around the world. This subterranean world contains bioluminescent fungi, coral and bright, scintillating crystals that adorn the huge cavernous spaces and antechambers.
